OFFICIAL ADIRONDACK INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY RULES NOTICE

August 18th, 2007

RE: 2007 ASA Challenger Late Model Rules

Point of Interest: DRIVE TRAIN, Section 3.F.

This document is notification directed to all ASA Challenger Late Model teams competing at the Adirondack International Speedway. During the nights events on August 18th, 2007 a competitor was found with a “dual-purpose” differential similar to the “QCE Detroit Locker”. While the competitor was using it for the proper “spool” type purpose the rulebook was not specifically intended to allow such device in competition.

Furthermore, while close investigation showed the device was not being used in an un-locking manner the differential was confiscated by Adirondack International Speedway officials and the competitor was fined $250. The part will be turned back over to the competitor following the completion of the 2007 season.

In turn, rule F in Section 3 of the 2007 ASA Challenger Late Model Rulebook has been clarified as such:

Safely mounted one-piece standard or ultra-light spooled rear end must be used. Must have floater or safety hubs. NO independent or cambered rear-ends. NO locking/unlocking, or multi-purpose type spools permitted. NO electric, electronic or hydraulic devices allowed.

For the remainder of the season, any competitors found to be in violation of this rule, whether using the device in the matter in which it was intended, or not, it will result in immediate disqualification, loss of points and money, and possible confiscation of said part until the final event of the season is completed.

Any questions on this notice or any other issues, please contact Billy Gibson at (315) 346-7223.
