MILD OFF-SEASON WEATHER FORCES ADIRONDACK TO CANCEL VINTAGE SNOWMOBILE RACES

NEW BREMEN, N.Y. – As the weather had begun to turn for the better it didn’t meet a previous slated deadline set by management at the Adirondack International Speedway. In reference to a February 10th date where the Northern New York Vintage Snowsled Racers were going to make their first ever visit to the famed New Bremen, NY half-mile, the Speedway has been forced to cancel their plans and look ahead to next year.

“With the ill-fated weather as well as not enough sufficient resources to get this event rolling it is in our best interest to cancel the races,” said Adirondack’s General Manager and the Event Promoter, Billy Gibson. When 50+ Vintage Racers were planned to flock to the semi-banked circular oval for their first visit on an actual race track, the event was scheduled to take place under the facilities state-of-the-art lighting system. “It was a much anticipated event and something we were psyched to be a part of, but unfortunately, as we planned to be building ice on the track by now, the weather just isn’t allowing us to go on,” added Gibson. “We simply want to do this event right, and in this case the weather would have us scrambling around last minute to build a suitable racetrack. It simply wouldn’t go off the way we’d like it too. We’ll be ready to work with the club again next year and hopefully then the weather will be on our side.”

With ‘Mother Nature’ cooperating, four to five inches of ice was to be built on the semi-banked oval track to deem the track race-suitable, as well as to prevent damage to the Speedway’s actual asphalt racing surface.

At this moment while the Speedway is readying to release their 2007 racing schedule, plans are to re-open the illustrious facility on May 19th with their 6th Annual Season Opener.
