ADIRONDACK INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY RELEASES 2007 SCHEDULE; PLANS EXTENSIVE PRE-SEASON PROMOTION

NEW BREMEN, N.Y. – As the bitter cold temperatures have set in, in the North Country the Adirondack International Speedway have just spiced thing up during this off-season with the official release of their 2007 Season Schedule.

With the cancellation of the inaugural Northern New York Vintage Snow Racers event on February 10th, the season will officially kick off with several car shows throughout the Central and Eastern part of the State. Expected to conclude in April, the car shows will provide direct and immediate promotion of New York’s Premier Asphalt destination. “I am happy to say that we will be appearing at, at least four shows through March and into April,” quoted track owner Paul Lyndaker. “We want to start things off right, and reaching out into different areas with these select shows will bring us more towards the spotlight.”

All cars directly involved with Adirondack are welcomed to contact General Manager Billy Gibson if they are interested in becoming involved with any of the pre-season shows. The first show will unfold at the annual Carquest Motorsports Expo at the New York State Fairground’s Cargill Exhibit Center. The event is slated to take place March 9th-11th.

While the pre-season events will reach out of the immediate area, all attention will turn back to New Bremen on May 19th with the 6th Annual Season Opener. This nights events will consist of an ASA Challenger Late Model pre-qualifier for the following weeks “Champ 101”. Prior to this date, two “Test and Tune” sessions are scheduled for May 5th and 12th. These sessions will give all competitors the chance to shake down their equipment as well as go through an inspection with the A.I.S. tech officials, providing assurance that each car complies with the respected division rulebook.

Also highlighted on the schedule will be the “Open Wheel Memorial Day Extravaganza” on Monday, May 28th. The holiday event will begin at 2pm and it will, with rave excitement, feature the return of the Dirt 358 Modifieds in a 40-lap shootout. In addition, the NORA Small-Block (Limited) Supermodifieds will return to the Adirondack asphalt and will serve in support along with the Westward Painting Company (W.P.C.) Light Truck division. Made possible by the W.P.C., the Light Truck competitors will be welcomed with a $400-to-win, 25-lap special.

Most of all, the schedule will be headlined with the NASCAR Busch East Series, “Edge Hotel 150”. The visit by this series will be their only visit to New York State and is expected to be the best yet. Expected to unfold with the ASA Challenger Late Models in support, this event will once again take place during the last weekend (27th and 28th) of July.

For more information on the schedule you can contact the Speedway at (315) 346-RACE or see it for yourself on the Speedway website at www.adirondackspeedway.com.
