AIS COMPETITORS INVITED TO TAKE PART IN
AFFORDABLE 2007 PRACTICE SCHEDULE
NEW BREMEN, N.Y. – In
2007, the Adirondack International Speedway has
again made another step forward in giving their
drivers a great place to race throughout the Spring,
Summer and early Fall season months.
From early May
through October all competitors will be invited to
practice at the A.I.S. during the week with
scheduled practice dates that have already been set
in stone. With the “set” practice dates, teams are
also given the option to engage in private practice
sessions throughout the 2007 campaign.
“We thought up of a
plan to give our teams some sufficient and
affordable practice time through the season,” quoted
track manager Billy Gibson. “During each week we
will have one to two days where we will open the
track to any teams interested in turning some laps
at A.I.S. Our thought is that it may spark the
interest for new drivers and also make the weekly
racing all the more safer. As far as I know we are
likely the only track in the State to come up with
an opportunity like this for our teams and we pride
ourselves in that.”
During each week,
the Speedway will swing open their gates on the set
days for any interested teams, for just $20 per
team. The hours are tentatively set to be from 4pm
until 8pm and the practice dates will take place
between Tuesday and Thursday during the week. A
normal weekly practice schedule will be released
soon.
For the teams
interested in private practice sessions at the
Speedway on any other weekday they are welcome to do
so for just $100 per team for a four hour
strictly private session.
As the Speedway may
not be open for practice on any actual race day or
Sunday, they encourage all teams interested in
practicing to call and make arrangements with the
Speedway before making the tow out to the Lewis
County oval.
The track is
(tentatively) not to open for the first practice
until May 5th. On this date, tech inspectors for
each division will also be in attendance to push
cars through a pre-season inspection to assure that
each racecar is properly set to compete.
