ADIRONDACK SPEEDWAY PLANS UPCOMING PROMOTIONS TO PUT 2008 SEASON IN HIGH GEAR
LOWVILLE – With interest abuzz throughout the winter months and into the early Spring, the Adirondack International Speedway is in high gear heading into the 2008 season. With the May 17th Opener still over a month away the ASA-sanctioned Speedway is riding high in anticipation for their 7th consecutive season. But while the staff and fans are getting the itch to see cars on the track, their attention will first turn to the sharp glamour of newly painted racecars, and familiar faces from 2007. With two promotions upcoming, the Speedway is now taking entries for their annual Salmon Run Mall Show in Watertown, NY. Currently, cars in each division are guaranteed to be on display for the show that will take place from April 14 through April 20th. Some of the cars and stars to be showing off their precious metal include Tommy Cloce in the ASA Challenger Late Models, Randy Widrick and Ben Vantassel in the GotGoodCheese.com True Stocks, Scott Shafer in the D&D Powersports Sport Compacts, and John VanTassel in the Light Trucks. It will be the second year in a row that the cars will grace the Watertown shopping mall, a show that is sure to be a catch for the local fans of Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties. Once the Watertown show is in the books, attention will be turned to the Fort Drum Military base in Fort Drum, NY. On Friday, May 2nd, several cars will make their way over to the bustling base to display their cars to our nation’s service men and women. Both shows still have spots available and all teams who would like free publicity for their team and sponsors should call Billy Gibson at (315) 794-2357 to reserve their space. The Adirondack International Speedway will also use these shows to promote their 2008 season as well as their two big events planned. The first, of course, will be the 7th Annual NASCAR Weekend that will take place July 24th and 25th. The NASCAR Camping World East Series will hit the track on the latter day for a 150-lap swaray in the Edge Hotel sponsored event. For the second big event of the year, the popular ASA Challenger Late Models will be in the spotlight for the 2nd Annual Renegade Nationals. The event will pay the Late Models $4,000-to-win plus lap money and $400-to-start. For more information on the car shows, or the 2008 schedule you can call the Speedway office at (315) 346-7223 or (315) 794-2357. You can also visit the Speedway website at adirondackspeedway.com.
