RENEGADE SPRING NATIONALS JUST ONE WEEK AWAY
New Bremen, NY – With the second of two Test & Tune sessions being completed this past Saturday the staff and officials of the Adirondack International Speedway are gearing up for their 6th annual season opener, sending their hometown heroes off with the first annual Renegade Spring Nationals, a Champ 101-lap event for the ASA Challenger Late Models.
With 35 cars spread across four divisions entering the pits and testing their machines on Saturday the anticipation has set in for a big car count and an excalating competition level. Lee Gill of La Fargeville timed first quickest of the Late Models and will be back this Saturday in search of the $2,000-to-win prize. Josh Lloyd, a sophomore in the division, timed quickest in the first Test & Tune session just two weekends ago and he will return for the 5pm opener. Some of the confirmed entries include 2006 MAARA Champion; Will Thomas, Todd Hoddick, Joe Beretta, Jim Lamaroux, Chris Ross, Tommy Cloce, John Papin, Jason Herrington, Chola Shay, Bryant Trim as well as Gill and Lloyd. The total crop of drivers is expected to boast a 30-car field.
In the True Stock division, 15-year-old star Dylan Bancroft showed the quickest times of all, with JR Mooney also stopping the clocks in impressive fashion. Four cylinder and Light Truck posted times went to Al Brigham and Dave Carlisle. Each driver will be returning on the 19th for the opener.
With pit gates set to open at 12pm, technical inspection will get underway at 1pm. Grandstands will swing open at 3pm with racing taking off at 5pm, sharp. Grandstand admission is at $15 for adults and $10 for kids. Ages 9 and under will be admitted FREE. Located on the Artz Rd. in the township of New Bremen, the speedway is just five miles north of Lowville.
