ADIRONDACK SPEEDWAY ANNOUNCES RETURN OF THE NASCAR BUSCH EAST SERIES IN 2007

NEW BREMEN, N.Y. – Off-season chores have continued to progress at the Adirondack International Speedway. While the season schedule for the “ASA Member Track” facility has started to go through its final stages of completion, the biggest event each year is already widely beginning to create anticipation.

Finalized earlier in the month, the NASCAR Busch East Series (BES) and AIS have signed together once again to complete their sixth year in showcasing one of New York’s most talked-about annual asphalt racing events. The ever-growing Series is set to take to the New Bremen, NY oval on Saturday, July 28th. This year’s event will mark the Empire States only Busch East Tour race in ‘07, down from three state-wide area events last season. As the BES has added more premier facilities to their bustling schedule, track owner Paul Lyndaker is pleased to remain a part of the group, “I’m really excited to be a part of the Busch East scene once again, especially as they continue to grow and look outside the Northeast area for more premier facilites,” commented Lyndaker.

While the NASCAR Busch East Series has routinely held its focus in the New York/New England boundaries, they have reached out further West and further South in the 2007 schedule. Trips to Elko (MN), Newton (IA), South Boston (VA), Greenville-Pickens (SC), as well as Nashville (TN), have created a whirlwind of excitement for the future of the BES, hopeful to bring in developmental drivers from NASCAR’s prime outfits.

“Adirondack has been a real positive event on the (Busch) East schedule and we were hopeful that we would get them back for this years campaign, they have a beautiful facility, and the track offers some of the best side-by-side racing that not just any track can offer,” stated the series director, Lee Roy. “It is shaping up to be an incredible season”, added NASCAR Grand National Operations Manager, George Silbermann.

In last years event Concord, North Carolina’s Sean Caisse and Mattituck, NY’s Bryon Chew went nose-to-tail across the finish line in an exciting fifth annual “Edge Hotel 150”. Prior to this event, the final lead change of the race had taken place each year within the last 10 laps, bringing four annual outcomes down to the final ½-mile. In 2006, Caisse took the lead on lap 101 and cruised to a win despite a hard-charging Chew who closed to his rear bumper in the closing circuits. It was Caisse’s first win of his career at Adirondack and his triumph recorded the fourth different BES victor at AIS.
